Ehman-WebEHMAN, LORNA – On December 30, 2015, Lorna Caroline Ehman, (nee Morris), age 90 of Petrolia passed away peacefully at Fiddick’s Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband Saul Ehman (1989), parents Red (Lorne) Morris and Addie (Edith, nee Collins), sister, Eleanor Jackson, 2015, and brother-in-law Dave Jackson, 2015. She was the mother of David (Gina) Ehman of Ottawa, Kathy Ehman and Nancy Ehman of Petrolia, grandmother of Sam Warning (Erin), Russ Warning (Laura), Lindsey Ehman-Mullins (James) and Rob Ehman, and great-grandmother of Molly and Daylen, Gavin and Max. Lorna will be greatly missed by her brother and sisters by marriage, Bill and Ardis Ehman and Marjorie Ehman (George, 2001) and by nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Lorna valued and nurtured genuine bonds with friends, coworkers, neighbours, especially with the staff and residents of St. Francis House, Petrolia, where her daughter Nancy became one of the facility’s first residents, in 1990. Her random acts of kindness touched many lives. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Thursday, January 7th, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service time. Beloved wife of Tom for 55 years. Devoted mother of Shirley Taouil (Milad), Emig Nohra (Michelle), Giselle Banner, Louise Boomer, the late Mary Ann Whittle (2014), Joe Nohra (Joyce). Survived by her sister Lois Kettle and brother, Tom Hyatt; predeceased by brothers Bob, Keith, John, Elwood (Shorty), Alfie, and sister Marion Routley. Loved and missed by her daughters Ann (Bob) Smyth, Nancy (Ken) McNab, grandmother to Ian (Anwen) Smyth, Cheryl (Dexter) Hodder and great grandmother to Sion and Gwen Smyth. Peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at North Lambton Lodge, Ruth Pauline (Somes) Saul passed away at the age of 77. Born June 15, 1938 to Robert and Edna Somes. Loving wife of Stewart for almost 48 years when he passed on October 11, 2005. Proud mother of Richard and his wife Bobbi, Jim and his wife Lisa and Janet and her husband Brandon. Pauline was a wonderful Grandma to Kristy, Kenny, Jacky, Kelly, Erika, Tara, Cassie and Aidan and 4 great grandchildren. Pauline will be missed by her brothers Jack (Joan) Somes, Wayne Somes and brother-in-law Don Oleniuk. Predeceased by her parents and siblings Enid, Hazel, Margaret, Eva, Gary and Norma. Pauline loved her large family and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Pauline grew up on a dairy farm in Blackwell and remained close by in Aberarder and Camlachie to raise her family. She loved to spend time with her many friends at Nettles Island and McKenzie Lake and will be greatly missed in those communities. Pauline worked as a secretary at various schools within Lambton County School Board and later at Dow Chemical. She was an active member of the Camlachie Presbyterian Church, Women’s Institute and a 4-H Leader. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fredrick Harold Taylor at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital of Bluewater Health in Petrolia, Ontario, on December 29, 2015, at 81 years of age. Survived by his beloved wife Doreen and four daughters Christine Reaburn (David) of Shelburne, Ontario, Wendi Jamison (late Ross) of Fort Myers, Florida, Beverley Lawrence (Terry) of Bright’s Grove, Ontario and Kerri Gladwin (John) of Edmonton, Alberta.  Survived by brothers Howard (Pam), Harold (Jeannette) and Richard (Sandy) and sister-in-law Dorothy (late Kenneth) and their children Susan and Michael. Fred was truly blessed with 11 grandchildren, Jason, Meaghan, Kevin, Jenna, Daniel, Kevin, Paula, Adam, Jaime, Ashley and Bradley, plus he was “GG Pa” to six great grandchildren, Alexys, Tyler, Taryn, Caden, MacKenzie, Stevie and a new arrival expected in April. Predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Monda Taylor, sisters Lorraine and Kathleen and brother Philip.  Also predeceased by Doreen’s parents Evan and Beatrice Walters whom he dearly loved.  Fred leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his passing. He proudly served with the Toronto Scottish Reserve Regiment from 1951 to 1953. Cremation has taken place. Born in Toronto, on February 7 1941, daughter of the late John and Mary (Boyle) Dale. Diane was a former member of the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary and was employed with Avon Lighting until retiring.

Devoted husband Dennis Kenny, sons Sean (Janice) Kenny of Kitchener, Daniel (Aska) Kenny of Long Island, N.Y., grandchildren Abbey-Gale, Aisha, Miyako and Alexandar. Also survived by brothers Jim (Brenda) Dale of Lyle, Kerry (Connie) Dale of Huntsville, sisters Carol Copp of Willowdale, Barb (Malcolm) Bliss of Oshawa, Glenna Kari (Bob Faraci) of Winnipeg, Marilyn Dale of Springwater, Yvonne Wojcik (Bob Hatton) of Wasaga Beach, Sandra Lowe of Scarborough.  Predeceased by brother John Dale Jr., sister Joan (Michael) McNeill and brother-in-law Jack Copp.

On behalf of Diane’s family, a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Durham and the Hanover and District Hospital for their compassionate care. A further thank you to friends and neighbours for their generosity and support.

She was born (1932) in Nanking, China to parents Ai Hui Chao and Fen Sun Chen. She married Hsiang Sung Lu in 1959 and he survives. Also surviving are her son-in-law David Barton and 3 grandchildren: Michael, Brenna and Kailynn Barton of Ann Arbor, Michigan, cousin Nancy Lichon (husband Fran), and other family members. Her daughter Alice Lu Barton preceded her in death.Lily received her Bachelor’s Degree at Taiwan University and her Master’s Degree at the University of Oklahoma. She was a long time resident of Sarnia and was a librarian at Sarnia Public Library.Lily was a loving mother and grandmother. She was outgoing, humorous and kind. She enjoyed traveling and time with her family. She and her husband were generous donors to a variety of organizations including Northwestern University, Sarnia Public Library, Sarnia Art Gallery, Canadian Cancer Society and many others. She and her husband were awarded the Lambton County Award for generous donations and ongoing support to the Cultural Services Division. Services will be held at the D.J. POZDYK, LiseAfter a courageous battle with cancer, the family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Wednesday November 18, 2015 at the young age of 58 years. Beloved daughter of Huguette Larose (nee Lavergne) and of the late Orelle Donald Larose. Loving mother of Stephanie Desbiens and adored mother in law to David of Hanmer. Mother of Nicholas Pozdyk (fiancée Nicole Gionet) of Timmins and wife of Frank Nicholas Pozdyk of ValCaron. She was the favorite sister of Suzanne Landry (Fern), Michel Larose (Marilyn), Mariane Larose (Gilles), Rachelle Brault (Mary), Marc Larose (Kim), Gisele Brideau (Michel), and Chantal Larose. Cherished Nana of Dakota, Austin, Emelye and baby boy Desbiens on the way. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Lise was a true inspiration at living free and breaking the barriers that cancer brings. Her positive outlook on life and contagious smile encouraged others to live life to the fullest. A gathering will take place on Monday November 23, 2015 at 11 am at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville, Val Therese. DUSOME, ElizabethIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Dusome, on Monday, November 16th, 2015 at the age of 72 years old. Predeceased by her parents George and Birrell (nee Dack) Simmonds. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Kelly Seguin (Chris) and by her brother Dr. David Simmonds (Karen). Precious Grandmother of Owen. She will be missed by her niece Andrea (Hans Schaefer) and nephew Mark Simmonds (Catherine). Lovingly remembered by Dave Dusome. Elizabeth was born August 10, 1943 in Midland, ON. She was a well respected Registered Nurse who dedicated most of her life caring for others. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday, November 20th, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. GLADU, EmeriEméri Gladu passed away peacefully at home Monday, November 16, 2015 at the age of 78 years. His wife Thérèse (née Giroux) of 55 years of marriage and both daughters Jocelyne and Colette Gladu-Anderson (Albert) were by his side at the time of death. Predeceased by parents Lionel Gladu and Alice (née Ranger), by his daughter Marie and by his brother Aimé (Carolyn). Dear brother of Diane Lake (late Lawrence) and Réné (Vicky). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and Molly. Eméri enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and going for walks. He was very happy to spend time with his family. He had a great sense of humour and you were always able to count on his honesty and love of life. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the doctor’s office, the Northeastern Cancer Centre, Bayshore Nursing, CCAC, Palliative Care and Bradley Pharmacy. The family would like to thank the Cooperative Funeral Home. In keeping with Eméri’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. PATERSON, GordIt is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing at home on Friday, November 13th, 2015 at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of 51 years to Nancy Paterson (Thomson). Loving father of Stephen Paterson. Predeceased by his son James Paterson in 2012. Sadly missed by his special family Tracy, Darrin, Brogan and Jayden. He will also be missed by many friends, especially Debbie and Ralph. As well as his bullies Cooper and Sophie. Gord Paterson, chief, Barrier-Free Design Office for the Ministry of Government Services, won Canada’s first gold medal in the Disabled Olympics in Israel in 1968. The following year, he picked up a gold and three bronze medals in the Pan American Games in Argentina. Gord received a centennial medal in 1967, for a valuable service to the nation and a citation in 1988, for his valuable contribution to the community. In keeping with Gord’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the paramedics, police, Dr. R. Sawkiw and especially to Constable Ray Ealdama. If desired, donations can be made in Gord’s memory to the Larchwood United Church in Dowling. Beloved wife of Serge Lancup and loving mother of Natasha (Aaron Wright) and Eric (Julie Rochon). Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Patrick, Isabelle, Justin, William and Simon. Daughter of the late Joseph Tourigny and the late Berthe Tourigny (Guindon). Dear sister of Claudette Tourigny Aubin (late Gérald), Ronald Tourigny (Gisèle Gagnon) and Sr. Murielle Tourigny s.c.o. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated caretaker to her family, enjoyed cooking and taking long walks. She had worked many years for Eaton’s and Michaud Pharmacy. DUBUC, EdmondPeacefully passed away surrounded by his family in Sudbury on Sunday, November 15th, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Son of the late Ambroise and the late Philomène Dubuc (née Sevigny). Predeceased by his wife Adèle Dubuc (née Lalonde). Loving father of Denis (Rose), Eliette Richer (Charles), Estelle Smith (Jim) and Ronald (Monique). Cherished grandfather of Monique, Michael, Lynne, Julie, Sylvie, Christine, Nicole, Martin, Nathaniel and Sheldon. Great-grandfather of 10. Dear brother of Rolande Cull (Lacey). Predeceased by his siblings Clarisse Michaud (late Gilbert), Rita Fournier (late Mick), Gérald (late Exilda), Noëlla Turner (late Romeo) and Jean (Suzanne). Edmond was a devoted Inco man. He worked at the smelter for 42 years. Mass of Christian burial was held at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Falconbridge for their care and compassion. Especially Anne Marie, Loviriza and Maria “Marisha”.
