mac22 1DEIGHTON: Josephine Margaret Yvonne age 91 of Petrolia formerly of R.R. 4 Dresden passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at C.E.E. Hospital Petrolia. She was born in Sarnia daughter of the late Walter and Lyla (Warren) McFadden. Yvonne had been a member and elder of Rutherford Presbyterian Church and a member of O.E.S. #39 Brigden. Surviving is her daughter Deanna Kaufman (Francis) of Chatham, her son Hugh Deighton (Monica) of R.R. 4 Dresden; six grandchildren: Michelle Deighton-Hussey (Erin), Wade Deighton (Lisa), Sarah Leatherdale (Luke), Lisa Kaufman (Joel), Adam Kaufman (Jessica), Angelika Kaufman (Scott); four great grandchildren: Ethan & Finn Hussey, Caleb Deighton, Henry Leatherdale; two sisters: Betty Rustin of Missouri & Marg Wilson of Dresden; sister-in-law Christine McFadden of Dresden. She is predeceased by her husband Lorne Deighton (1988), brother Walter McFadden, sister Donna Day and brothers-in-law Doug Wilson & Hank Ruston. There is no visitation. As requested by the family there will be a private family graveside service in Dresden Cemetery on Thursday, June 4, 2015 with Rev. Linda McFadden officiating. CoverConnie Lustig of Chesley, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in her 80th year.

Beloved mother of Stacey (Don) House of Walkerton, Stephen (Emma) of Owen Sound, Jason of Walkerton and Nancy (Jack) McTeer of London. Nana will live on in the thoughts and memories of her grandchildren Zachary, Jade, Rachael, Rebecca and Jeremy. Connie will be sadly missed by her brothers Bill Van Horne of Alberta and Doug Van Horne of Chatsworth, as well as many close friends and fellow volunteers.

She is reunited and dancing once again with her husband Beverly. Connie is also predeceased by her brothers Ross (Dorothy), Lloyd, sisters-in-law Phyllis and Naomi and her parents, Whitney and Viola (Diebel) Van Horne.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Connie’s life at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service honouring Connie’s life will be held at St. John’s United Church, Chesley on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment in Kincardine Cemetery.

Giffen, Gordon webGIFFEN Gordon Stanley – On May 29, 2015 passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71.  Predeceased by his loving wife Linda. Loving father of Lynn(Nick) & Heather. Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Arian, Tabatha, Ryan, Alicia & Joshua and great-grandfather to Christopher.  Dear brother of Marilyn(Don), Margie(Tom).

He will be remembered for his passion for cars and his piston head lifestyle. Cruise nights without Gord will never be the same. He will be forever missed. He retired at the age of 65 from Maple Leaf Foods and also had a great love for the trucking industry and trucks. His number one and most important love was Linda and now has gone to join her. After a brief illness with her her loving family by her side, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandy Kirk in palliative care at Bluewater Health on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the age of 51.  Beloved wife of Greg for 22 years. Caring and devoted mother of A.J. and Ashley.  Cherished daughter of Rita (nee Smith) and the late James Warren (2013).  Loved daughter-in-law of Bob and Betty Kirk of Zurich. Passed away at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia on Friday, May 29, 2015.  Patricia “Pat” Gallivan, 80 years, of Wyoming.   Pat was the loving wife of the late Jack Gallivan (2003).  She will be missed by her children Mary Pat (Ian) Washington of Sarnia, Dan (Jessica) Gallivan of Toronto, Maureen (Doug) McGregor of London, and Kevin (Suzy) Gallivan of Vancouver.  She was a loved grandmother of Craig Washington, Meghan (Paul) and their son Jacob Andrusiak, Kevin and  Kalyn McGregor, and Simon Gallivan.   Pat is also survived by her sisters Nancy McGee of Ottawa, Mary Kennedy of Toronto, Rose Ryan of Blue Sea, Quebec, and her brother Tim Hogan of Ottawa. Pat retired in 2000 as librarian from St. Philips School after many years of service.  Pat was also active in the community with the Margaret Stokes Chapter of IODE and enjoyed spending time in her Book Club.   In her free time Pat enjoyed reading, gardening, antiquing and following her favorite teams the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons.  Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia.  A mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.  from St. Philip’s Church, King St., Petrolia.  Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Petrolia Community Fund (Petrolia Library) or the C.E.E. Thomson MR Inside editDied peacefully with his family by his side at London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario on May 28, 2015 at the age of 57, after a sudden illness.  Survived by his wife and soulmate Gabriele Marie; daughters Kira Maxine and Shauna Jean; sister Dr. Dorothy Jean Thomson; and nieces Lillian Helen Maxine and Claire Alexandra. Bill was predeceased by his father William Alexander (1997) and mother Dorothy Maxine (2011). Bill attended London Central Collegiate, St. John’s Cathedral Boys’ School in Selkirk, MB., and the University of Waterloo (mechanical engineering) and received his MBA from the Ivey Business School, Western. His career included the automotive industry, entrepreneurial businesses, property management, teaching at Fanshawe College and he continued to be involved and supportive of The Ivey Business School. Always willing to give back, Bill was an active volunteer in many organizations in London, including Metropolitan United Church, Byron Optimist Club, Ivey Business School, and The London West Conservative Party. His gentle nature, sense of humour and curiosity about life will be sorely missed by his family, who were the centre of his universe, as well as by his many friends. A loving husband and best friend to Gabriele, and devoted Dad to Kira and Shauna, he was just as proud of his dear sister Dorothy’s daughters, Lillian and Claire. His curiosity meant spectacular travel to exotic destinations around the globe like the Inca trail and Africa, as well as the ski hills and mountain bike paths closer to home. Always active, he loved cycling, skating, deep sea diving, and hiking. Staying active allowed Bill to indulge in his love of fine wine and food and most particularly, ice cream:  an addiction he inherited from his Dad. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the London Health Sciences Centre, Critical Care Unit and the many doctors and nurses who provided Bill with such wonderful care. Beloved husband of the late Freda Viola (nee French) Clark (2003) for  42 years.  Dear father of Cindy Clark-Kernohan (Mark) of London, Calvin Clark of St. Thomas, Christina  Clark-Reaume (Brian) of Chatham. Proud Grandpa of Aaron, Amy, Brody, Evan, Max. Regarded by a number of nieces and nephews.  Born in Caradoc township, ON, March 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Nathaniel Clark (1967) and the late Cecile (Brownlee) Clark (1967)  little brother to the late Gerald Clark (1998) (Eva) and Marilyn Lunn (nee Clark) (Jim) (2012).  Harold began working for the C & O Railroad in 1965 and during that time was a Volunteer Firefighter with the Southwold Township Fire Department.  He enjoyed going to garage sales to find unique collectables, working with small engines or anything mechanical, dancing, animals, camping, and first and foremost spending time with his family.  Harold was a member of the Warren Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M Fingal.  Friends will be received by the family at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday May 28, 2015 from  2-4 and 7-9 pm.  A Masonic Service under auspice Warren Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M. will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 pm.  The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 1:30 pm.  Interment in Fingal Cemetery. Jim HonsingerHONSINGER – James Paul of St. Thomas,  passed away at home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer, on May 23, 2015 at the age of 67.  Beloved husband of Wendy Honsinger.  Jim is survived by children Tim Honsinger (Julie Carr) of Hamilton, Jay (Laurie) Honsinger; grandchildren Greg Honsinger (Mary Philbin), Tristan Honsinger, and Taylor Honsinger, all of St. Thomas.  Predeceased by his parents Paul and Shirley Honsinger, and his brother Terry Honsinger.  Jim will be missed by his co-workers at Phil Mauer & Associates in Eden.  He looked forward to his annual Father’s Day round of golf with his sons and grandchildren, as well as travelling with his wife Wendy.  A private family gathering was held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570), prior to cremation.  Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.  Jim’s family wishes to thank Wendy’s sister and brother-in-law Bev (Bob) Lister, along with his personal caregivers, for their kindness and compassion over the last two years. Born in Grafton, Ontario, Linda lived a full life spending time in Oakville and her favourite place, Muskoka. She died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her family. Linda was a devoted wife of 51 years to Ron Burrows, proud mother to her children, Steven Burrows and Stacy Bogden (Kerby) and loving, nurturing “Nani” to her grandchildren; Jessica and Emily Burrows and Brook and Devon Bogden. Linda was a dedicated mother and beautiful soul who loved nature and her family, teaching them the importance of kindness, humour and most importantly love. Linda was compassionate and thoughtful, always putting the needs of others before her own. Linda will be deeply missed and is survived by her father, Frederick Beatty, siblings Dave Beatty (Lucy), Paul Beatty (Lenka), Darlene Hardy and many extended family and friends including her beloved companion Lucky. The family extends their thanks to all the staff at Trillium Health Centre and especially the ICU.  A graveside service will take place at 1pm on Monday June , 1 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in Grafton, Ontario followed by a reception at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St. E., Cobourg Ontario. Who died unexpectedly at Victoria Hospital, London on May 28, 2015, was predeceased by the love of his life Marion (Clode) after nearly 50 years together in marriage.  Don will be sadly missed by his family; David (Kathy) of London, Douglas (Sonia) of Stittsville, and Craig (Erin) of Toronto.  Don found great joy in his grandchildren, Jennifer, Stefan (deceased in 1994), McKenna, Daniel, Smith, Zoe and Samuel.  Born, raised and educated in Toronto, Don was a Boys Work Secretary at Toronto Central YMCA for 5 years followed by 10 years of service to Churches in Alberta, Northern Ontario and Scarborough.  Following his interest in working with people, Don became a Probation Officer, retiring 26 years later as Director of Youth and Community Corrections for the Province of Ontario.  In retirement, Marion and Don enjoyed travel, cottaging and especially their family.  Don was a proficient canoeist, an enthusiastic birder and a lover of the outdoors.  He led many church and community activities and supported numerous charitable causes. Friends will be received by the family at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington St, London on Monday, June 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. He will be dearly missed by brothers and sisters, Bill (Louise), Sharon Langdon (Gerry), Brian (Linda), Jim, Valerie Betts (Jim), MaryAnn, Carolyn Herlick (Tom), Diane, Doug, Janet, and Susan (Jeff). He is missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his nephew Derek. Steve worked for over 25 years as a technical designer all over Ontario and enjoyed golfing, fishing and throwing darts. He treasured time spent with his family and trips to Ireland with Sandra. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, on Sunday May 31, 2015 from 2-4pm, and 1 hour prior to the Memorial Service being conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday June 1, 2015 at 11am. Leclair, Flora (nee Cuthbertson)

web_leclair floraBorn in Scotland, Flora moved to Windsor with her family at 1 ½ years of age, in September of 1923. She has resided in Windsor ever since and made it her home. Passed away at age of 93 on May 27, 2015. Flora is predeceased by her husband Jim Leclair and brothers Charles and James Cuthbertson. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Derek Cuthbertson (Adele), their children and grandchildren-Janet, Tom, Ross, Charles, Wendy and Judy Leclair, Linda Bondy and David Gunning. A special thank you to her long time neighbor and care givers Kim & Ray Gagnier. Flora retired from the Toronto Dominion Bank, as Assistant Accountant, with 42 years of service. She was a dedicated member as well as a Lay Minister with her church, Bedford United. Flora was very active with her church activities for many years, including doing the books for the Church Camp, the daily books and assisting with running the After School program. Aside from her church, Flora loved knitting and the companionship of her pets. Her Christmas homemade chocolates, shortbread and cookies will be missed by many. If you so desire, donations made directly to Bedford United Church or to their After School program would be appreciated by the family. FORSTER: PETER WINSTON of Stayner

forster0001 (2)Died suddenly on Friday May 22, 2015 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto in his 75th year. Peter of Stayner, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Gibson) for over 53 years. Loving father of Sharon Forster, Joe Forster (Joan), Chris Forster (Aline), Ed Forster (Heather) and Bev Bristow. Cherished grandfather of Lisa, Mandy, Jacquie, Kaitlyn, Jesse, Michael and Alexandra. Dear brother of the late Doreen McLean (the late Angus) and Shirley Aylan-Parker (Jim). Peter is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Peter had a larger than life persona. He loved his family and his community. He was an avid fisherman, a lawn bowler and a hockey guy. He lent his talents to the Stayner and Barrie Lawn Bowling Clubs, holding many positions, was the longtime secretary of the Wasaga and District Builders and Contractors Association and was the former General Manager of the Stayner Siskins Hockey Club. His knowledge and involvement in his community will be missed. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, corner of William and Pine Streets, Stayner on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 1 o’clock. séguin-jacqueline-webMadame Jacqueline Dupuis née Séguin de Montebello est décédée le vendredi 22 mai 2015 à l’âge de 86 ans.  Elle était la tendre épouse de feu Roger Dupuis; la mère bien-aimée de Daniel (Diane), Isabelle (Pierre) et Marie (Rénald); la grand-mère adorée de Geneviève, Rébecca, Jérémie, Guillaume, Thierry, Dominique et Hugo ainsi que l’arrière-grand-mère de Jacob. Adam, Tristan, Rémi, Ryder, Sammy, Lela et Damien; Elle laisse un frère Lawrence.  Lui survivent également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousin(e)s, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s.

HAWTHORNE: Anne Esther – at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Thursday May 28, 2015.  Anne (Hetherington) Hawthorne of Beaverton was the beloved wife of John Hawthorne.  Loved mother of the late David (1992).  Sister of June (Gord) Best of Jarvis, Jack (Betty) Hetherington of London, Gladys Laskey of London and predeceased by her brothers Orval, Gordon, Robert and Joseph.  Survived by her sister-in-law Bernice Hetherington of London and special niece Janice Peltier of Chatham. Il fut précédé par plusieurs frères et soeurs. Lui survivent également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s.
