EmontswebMary Emonts (nee Wiggers) of Woodstock and Ingersoll, passed away peacefully  on Friday, December 31, 2014 in her 91st year.  Beloved wife of the late Martin Emonts (2002).  Survived by her children Jacqueline Allair (Michael), Wilfred Emonts (Debra), Toby Visser (Sid), James Emonts and Daniel Emonts.   She has 28 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her siblings in the Netherlands, Henricus Wiggers (Rieky) and Wilhelmien te Riele.  Predeceased by her sons Martin and Gerard both in 2013, her grandson Adam (1997), her brothers William, Werner, Gerard and her sister Hendrica.  Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Sunday, January 4, 2015 for visitation from 2-5 pm (NOTE TIME).  A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Father Rick Dales as celebrant.  If desired, memorial donations to Humane Society of Canada or a charity of choice would be appreciated.  Smith-LeRoy, 519-537-3611.  Personal condolences may be sent at www.smithleroy.com

Bell PICBell, Herbert Stafford (Bert); Born March 23, 1934 in Toronto, Ontario to George and Elsie (Theobald) Bell, our beloved father Bert passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2014.

He shared 33 years of marriage with his loving wife Patricia Anne (O’Brien) Bell and was predeceased by Pat, their son Randy, his brother Ron (Ellen), brother Bill and sister-in-law Beryl, brother Cliff (Kay), his sister Verna and brother-in-law Bob Wallace.  He leaves behind his children Glenn, Jayne and Julianne, his grandchildren Steven, Ashli, Bradley (Susannah), Lindsay (Darrell), Everett, Stafford and Garrett, and his great-grandchildren Aaron and Delaney, and his former wife Nancy and her daughter Tonia.  Bert spent the final 11 years of his life with Gisela Sickinger and became a beloved member of their family in Barrie, Ontario. Bert was a proud retiree of Air Canada with 31 years of service.

Cremation has taken place.  Please join us at St. Andrew’s United Church at 89 Mountainview Road South, Georgetown, Ontario in a celebration of life on Saturday, 3 January 2015 at 1:00 pm.

BROCKENSHIRE, Peter Ross (B.Sc. Trent, B.Eng Technical Engineering) – Passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Fairhaven Peterborough, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Myrna. Father of Deborah. Step-father of Steven Manley (Ann). Adored Papa of Sarah Manley, and great-grandfather of Brooke, Tiffany, Jacob, Joshua, Trent and Ryder. Predeceased by his parents George and Nora Brockenshire, his brother David and wife Arleigh (nee McAllister).

Peter grew up in Port Hope, where he received his early education. His working years began as a draftsman at GE. After completing his education at Trent University, Peter began teaching at local Peterborough High Schools. When Sir Sanford Fleming College opened in 1967, he became a valued instructor. He remained with Fleming until his retirement. Peter enjoyed travel and saw much of Canada and the USA touring in his motor-home. Latterly he and Myrna spent winters in Sarasota FL and summers at the cottage he loved on Stoney Lake.

TYE, Brian. – Brian died peacefully at Riverview Manor, on Friday December 19, 2014, in his 73rd year, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Pamela (nee Johnson), his son Graham and his wife Nicole, grandson Ethan; his daughter Natalie Lamont, granddaughter Julia; brother Bruce and his wife Bianca Birch. Brian was proud of his 42 years with London Life. He loved his family, watching the Toronto Blue Jays, Tim Hortons, family dinners, summers in Kincardine, and travelling in the motorhome. His family and friends will miss him. Cremation and a private family service have taken place. Brother of Doreen Higgerson of Oakville. Cherished son of the late Andy (1969) & Margaret (1987). Jack was a devoted family man, generous, caring, giving & always there for his family. A devoted member of Northminster United Church (since it first opened 1958) and served in many capacities in the Church administration. Jack was a committed volunteer to church hockey, coaching for over 20 years and helped out at many minor hockey tournament events in Peterborough. An avid golfer, lawn bowler and up until 2 years ago a curler, he was first to volunteer his time at the lawn bowling club, golf club & curling club. He had a passion for helping others and his humor was second to none. Those who knew him will say he was always good natured, friendly & never said an unkind word about anyone. A quiet, gentle man who was a role model and a source of pride for his whole family. Jack will be missed by all who knew him. PilkeyEverettDied suddenly on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 83rd year. Everett of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Leona for over 60 years. Loving father of Sherry (Blair Holland), Dwight (Debbie Ward), Laurie (Brady Robertson), Shelly (Jack Joslin) and Michael (Betty Jane). Everett was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Marie (the late John Simo), Marsh (the late Bev), Pete (Joan), the late Jimmy (Audrey), the late Bill (Ruby), the late Betty and the late Dorothy. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Everett was the long time animal control officer and a well respected resource for our communities. He loved the outdoors, his hobbies and his family. He will be missed. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday January 6, 20145 at the Clearview Community Church, 1070 County Road 42 (airport Rd) at 1 o’clock. Blackstock0002Passed away on Monday December 29, 2014 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood surrounded by his family in his 84th year. George of Stayner, is survived by Margaret, his wife of 61 years, his children Judy (Paul Hawton), Beatrice (Dave McKee), Bruce Blackstock (Sue), Brian Blackstock (Heather), Wayne Blackstock (Charlene), Sandra (Gabe VanderHeyden), Lorraine Cook, Betty Blackstock (Carl Lackey) and Barb Blackstock (Shelly Hobson) his 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Beatrice (Wes Oliver), Isobel McMahon and Irene (Jim Zilio). George is predeceased by daughters Linda and Joy and his brother Don. The family would like to express their appreciation for the efforts of Dr. Wells and the nursing staff of the G & M Hospital and their patience with the Clan during this time. Friends will be received at the Jubilee Presbyterian Church, 7320 Highway 26, Stayner on Saturday January 3, 2015 from 1 p.m. for the Memorial Service in the Sanctuary at 2 o’clock. Sutherland, Louise-W150At LHSC-University Hospital, London on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, of Lucan, in her 88th year.  Beloved wife of the late Don Sutherland (1977).  Dear mother of Lois and Alan Hodgins of Lucan, and Diane and Roy Cornell of Thamesville.  Grandmother of Ann and John Chalkley, John and Lisa Hodgins; Chris and Mandi Cornell, and Mark Cornell.  Great-grandmother of Jenna, Amberley, Shaelin, Hayleigh, Lomax, Reid and Wesley.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Elda Pickering, Joan Drury, Percy and Betty Pickering, Gary and Lynda Pickering, Pauline DeVries, Brian and Linda Pickering, and Marion Elliott.  Friend of John Countryman.  Predeceased by her sister Eileen Srigley and husband Hank, brother Harvey Pickering, and brothers-in-law Leonard Drury, Ben DeVries and Bill Elliott.
