carrière jo-ann - modMrs. Jo-Ann Carrière-Corbeil from L’Orignal passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of 53. She was the beloved wife of Luc Corbeil; the daughter of the late Alfred (Fred) Carrière and of the late Eunice Laforce (d’Oka, Qc); the loving mother of Fredrick, Eleni (Patrick Lalonde) and Priscilla. She is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and her beloved dog ‘’Duke’’. Jo-Ann never failed to open her heart and home; giving unconditional love and care too many locally and from around the world. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral details were entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home 416, McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511. A funeral service will be held at Saint-Pierre-Apôtre Parish in Hawkesbury on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. The family will be present from 1:15 p.m. to receive your condolences.

GUILD: Rae (nee Baumber) of Durham

Rae passed away peacefully at London Health Sciences – University Hospital on Thursday, October 30th, 2014 after a brief but serious illness. She will be sadly missed by her husband Torrance “Terry” Guild of Durham, her sister Grace Glass of Guelph, her many nieces and nephews, step-children and extended family, friends and neighbours. She is predeceased by her brother Ross Baumber. Rae enjoyed an accomplished career in Health Care Services in both Owen Sound and Durham, as well as serving as a Medical Officer in the Armed Forces in Canada and abroad. Rae volunteered with CUSO in rural Nigeria, which developed into a lifelong love of Africa. In her later years, Rae enjoyed artistic pursuits in eggery and card making and loved to share her creations with others. Special thanks to niece Lynn Thornton (nee Baumber) who was with her in her final breaths, and to all Hospital staff in both Hanover Hospital and London Health Sciences who gave their very best. A celebration of Rae’s life will be held at Knox United Church, Durham on Saturday, November 8th at 1 p.m., followed by a come and go memorial luncheon until 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Knox United Church Memorial Fund or Christian Blind Mission “Miracle of Sight” would be appreciated by family and may be made through the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, 519-369-3837 or www.mccullochwatsonfuneralhome.ca.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Hayden. Loving mother of Arlene Rowntree, Edward Hayden and mother-in-law of Doreen Hicks. Mildred will be missed by her grandchildren Bill (Laurie) Hicks, Janet (Mike) Wilson, John (Penny) Hicks, Lorraine (Bob) Legault, Edward Hayden, Dean Rowntree, Donna (Scott) Rennie and Todd Hayden. She will also be fondly remembered by her thirteen great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren and one great great great-granddaughter. Mildred was predeceased by her sons Charles and Stanley Hicks, son-in-law Tom Rowntree, sister Marjorie Bourne and brothers Joe, Harry, Stan and Wilfred Bourne.

Predeceased by her son Raymond. Dear sister of Gérard Martel, Reina Wilson (Andy), Rolly Martel (Adeline), Bertha Dufresne (Eugene), Paul Martel (Kay), Louis Martel (Noreen), Joseph Martel (Greta), Maurice Martel (Eva), Marie Meloche all predeceased, Rudy Martel (Barbara) and Beatrice Pajot (Don). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Andy Paquette (Christine), Darryl (Lois), Ray Jr. (Kim), Kevin (Loretta), Carol-Anne (Sylvain), James (Karla), Michael (Cathy), Melanie, Ryan and by her great grandchildren Harris, Linden, Owen, Addison, Zack, Rilley, Braeden, Leah, Luanne, Taylor, Alex, Ethan, Brolin, Corson, Taylor and Charlie. Mom will always be remembered for her laughter and great sense of humour. Her kind, caring and peaceful ways were her forte. She was our “little trooper”; overcoming so many obstacles with such courage. Many thanks to C.C.A.C, Bayshore nurses, We Care personnel, Home Care, Maison Vale Hospice staff and volunteers, EMS, Emergency Dept, nurses and doctors for their compassion, kindness and care. Family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E., Sudbury, on Sunday October 12th, 2014 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated Monday at 11 am at the funeral home Chapel, Sudbury. Daughter of the late James MacDonald and of the late Dorothy MacDonald (née MacIntosh). Loving mother of Luckey, Michele, Sherri and Shane Rochon (Shelly Fergson). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In keeping with Beverley’s wishes there will be no visitation. KNAPP, PaulineIt is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Pauline Marguerite Knapp (nee Leblanc) in the comfort of her home on the morning of Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 on the Feast of our Lady of the Rosary .

Beloved wife of Richard (her soul mate & best friend for 42 years). Daughter of the late Omer & Anna (Miron) Leblanc. Loving mother of David (Maria), Daniel (Jessica), Julie (Mitch) and Andrew. Cherished grandmother of Kayla and Noah, Ethan and Vanessa and Kennedy. Dear sister of Maurice (Moe) Leblanc predeceased (1969) & twin sister Marie predeceased (newborn). Dear sister-in-law of Naomi Taylor & Will Knapp. Will be sadly missed by her special cousins Georgette, Lola, Colette & Lise, Diana & special friends Bernie & Sue Oliver. Her true friend “Shep”, her sheltie, will miss her dearly.

Pauline and Richard and family attended “Paroisse L’Annonciation” until Pauline became ill; the family then transferred to “St. Andrew the Apostle”.

Pauline had a great devotion to Our Blessed Mother & the Rosary. She was a member of the funeral choir & the CWL. Pauline’s special talent was baking pies; everyone said her crust was the flakiest.

Pauline would like to thank so many very special people for their prayers and support: Church friends -Val, Laura, Imelda, and Yvette; neighbours Guy & Claudette for their generosity; Dr. Lopez, Lizette, Dr. Pearce & all the compassionate nurses in the chemo room and the nurses from Bayshore; A special thank you to “Sharon M.”; and a very special thank you to Father Sam for his visits & moral support.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday, October 10th, 2014 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic church on Barrydowne. Cremation will follow at a later date with a burial service at Sudbury Roman Catholic cemetery on Lasalle Blvd.

Masses would be appreciated.

Prédécédée par ses parents, Alphonse et Rachelle (née Crépeau) Vincent ainsi que par son époux Rolland Rainville et sa fille, Lorraine Mayer.  Mère bien-aimée de Gisèle Coutu (Marcel) de Chelmsford, Carmen Paquette (Gerry) de Toronto, Louise Rainville-Veilleux (Réjean) de Sudbury et Ginette Rainville (Jean Nadeau) de l’Outaouais. Ses petits-enfants, Roch (Nancy), Stéphane (Renée), Josée, Jason (Chantal), James (Sabryna), Mélani (Sandy) et Noémie garderont de doux souvenirs de sa tendresse. Fière-arrière-grand-maman de Megan, Emma, Véronique, Nicholas, Rosalie et de feu Janelle. Chère sœur de Gilberte Vincent, Rosa Chrétien (feu Florent), Reina Desjardins (Elphège) et Jeanne d’Arc Morin (feu Walter). Daughter of the late Joseph Richard and late Yvette MacKinnon. Loving mother of Matthew Stuart (Bobbi-Jo) and Jessica Stuart. Cherished grandmother of Owen, Molly and Oscar. Dear sister of Rick MacKinnon, Dan MacKinnon (Charisse Gushue), Garry MacKinnon (Carole Bujold), Donna Viianen (Michael), Karen Miron (Guy) and Robert MacKinnon (Karen Salewski). Predeceased by her sister Linda MacKinnon. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her beloved dog Charlie Brown.
