Rod was employed with Raybestos for over 20 years and was the co-founder and Past President of Peterborough Automotive Ltd., Walkwood Supply Ltd. And Lakefield Auto Parts. Loved and missed by his wife of 51 years, Bev (Oliver) and by his children Scott Anderson (Marité Hewitt) and Kathryn (Tom Broering). Loving grandad of Dean, Ryan and Andrew. Also missed by his brother Ralph Anderson (Sylvia) of Vancouver and sister Judi Rink (Don) of Kamloops. Predeceased by his parents Ralph & Grace Anderson. Peacefully, on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Bluewater Health, John “Jack” Walter Whyte passed away in his 86th year. Beloved husband of 64 years of marriage to Marie Dorothe Whyte.  Loving father of Richard (Pauline), Robert (Sandy), and John (Margot). Cherished grandfather of Samantha Whyte, Katrina Whyte (Adam VanHoogenhuize), Shawn Cartland, and Travis Cartland. Dear brother of David (Coleen) Whyte and brother-in-law Alan Lemaitre (Nancy Carson). Survived by nieces and nephews Harold (Jan), David (Linda), Peter (Elsie), Mary (Greg), Paul (Mary Lynn), Jerry, Eric (Cori Lynn), Deanna, Jim (Kerri), and their families.  Predeceased by his parents Harold and Mary Whyte, his in-laws Maurice and Irma Lemaitre, and his brother James. Jack retired from 40 years of service with Ontario Hydro and 60 years as a Mason. His hobbies included wood carving, making and flying his own RC planes, golfing, playing music, and putting together a good jigsaw puzzle. Cremation has taken place. Digger will be missed by loving caregivers, foster daughter Lori Mitchell, and great nieces Trish Johnson and Nicole Torma. Also survived by his dog Ally. Passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health on Thursday, August 28, 2014 after a long journey with Alzheimer’s. James was born in St. Catherines, Ontario on October 1, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Sadie (nee Deline), and brothers Len and William Roddy. Jim was a devoted husband to Mary (nee Cunningham) for 63 years. He was also the loving father of Linda (Lou) DiMuzio of Sarnia, Diane Roddy (Roger Smith) of Prince Albert, Bruce (Sue) Roddy of Sarnia and Carol Groulx (Rory Simpson) of Sarnia. Grandfather to Dan (Terra), Tara (Shawn), Erica, Brenden, Erin, Lauren (Billy), Matthew (Jennifer), Allison, Spencer, Grant and Anne. Great-grandfather of Indie and Savannah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members. Jim graduated from University of Toronto in 1950 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Prestolite in Pt. Edward until it closed. He was a long-time member of Paterson Memorial Church of Sarnia. A true sailor, Jim and his wife Mary, were active members of the Sarnia Yacht Club. Special thanks to Reverend Allan Farris for his prayers and words of comfort. Thanks to Dr. Pasqualucci, Dr. Crombeen, and the nurses of Bluewater Health for their care during his last hours and their tenderness is assisting family at the end of a long journey. In lieu of a visitation and flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paterson Memorial Church (cheques only at the funeral home please). Jim was not a man who liked a fuss. TESSIER, ViolaIn loving memory of Viola Tessier who passed away on August 09, 2014 at Health Sciences North. She was born on February 22, 1914 in Copper Cliff and remained a lifelong resident of Sudbury. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, parents Georges and Lea Martin (Larose), husband Lorenzo and her daughter Laura. She is survived by her sons Denis (Noella), Larry (Janina), Robert and Ronald (Sharon) and her daughters Annette Kimball and Diane (Robert) Campbell. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Richard, Raymond, Lorraine, Aline, Annette, Kathy, Michele, Renee, Brian, Janet, Marc, Lynn, Blaine, Kimberly and Cheryl. She was also very fond of her 25 great grandchildren and 15 great, great grandchildren. Viola recently celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. She travelled extensively and had a special fondness for fishing in Ontario, Newfoundland and Florida. Her passion for pastry cooking, especially “Memeres’ Fudge” will be enjoyed for generations to come. But above all she will be remembered for that big smile and hug that made us all feel so very special. Mom, you will be sadly missed and forever loved. In keeping with Viola’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Brian at the young age of 64 on Friday, August 8th, 2014. Loving son of Rita (née Carrey) and predeceased by his father Lenard Andrews. Survived by his daughter Heidi (Yvan) Charbonneau, as well as his former spouse and friend Joan Moriarty, his sister Sharon (Frank) Rotundo and grandchildren Céline and Éric. He was predeceased by his brother Mark and his sisters Cheryl, Laurie and Mary. He will be missed by his nieces Natalie (Alain) Lamarche and Tasha (Scott) Da Costa, as well as many relatives and friends. At Brian’s request there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (by cheque only) would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME.

Predeceased by his parents Siméon and Rosina (née Lalonde) Rainville. Beloved husband of 71 years to Claire (née Bertrand) Rainville. Loving father of Gilberte Lanctot (Gaston), Huguette Burns (Wayne), Yollande Paquette (late Lionel), Léo (Yvonne), Lise Lambert (Denis), Jeanne Beaulieu (Guy), Aline Grylls (Mike), Claude and Jacques (Louise). Predeceased by his son Guy (Jackie). Dear brother of Edna Belisle (late Rhéal). Predeceased by his siblings; Hermidas, Siméon Jr., Lucien, Léonide, Paul and Eugénie. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 from 2-5 and 7-9:30. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame du Rosaire, Blezard Valley. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Gabrielle (née Frappier) Houle. Wife of the late Denis Frappier, predeceased in 1993. Loving mother of Denise Dupuis (Ron), Louise van Heesch (Harry), Gérard Frappier (Diane Carrière), Donald Frappier (Francine Arsenault). Dear sister of Edgar Houle (Georgette), Alberte Robert all of Sudbury, Fernand Houle (Darlene) of Elliot Lake and Rita Arseneault (late Alcide) of Blezard Valley. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Emile (late Annie), Léo, Aurelien (Thérèse), Carmel (late Yvonne), Lina Moncion (late Laurier), Delia Coutu (late Marcel) and Laurette Tremblay (late Léo).
