Born in Grey County, Inez was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Reid) Allen. Beloved wife of the late Milton Cleveland (1988). Dear sister to Merle Smith of Chatham. Predeceased by her siblings Vernon, Morris and Wilma. Sister-in-law to Betty Allen of Blenheim and Lula and Norm Nicholson of Blenheim. Much loved aunt to Richard and Lou Allen of Blenheim, Brian and Jana Smith of Calgary and Joanne and Jamie Daniels of Chatham. Great-aunt to many great-nieces and nephews. Also missed by close friend and cousin Glenn and Mary Cleveland of Erieau, as well as many friends, extended family and her church family at Ridge Community Church, where she was a member of the U.C.W. Born in Toronto, JB was the son of the late James and Gladys Alberta (Pugh) Smith. Beloved husband of 28 years to Elaine (nee Wilson). Fondly remembered by his cousins Sandy and Bernice Leslie of Rexdale, Grace Rock of Aurora, Carol and Wayne Lang of London, Brian and Charlotte Bouckley of London and their children. Son-in-law to Wilfred Arthur and Carol Wilson. Brother-in-law to Mary Jane and George Smith of Charing Cross, Bob and Geri-Lyn Wilson of Horton Line and the late Jim Wilson (2008) and Una Wilson of Chatham and their families. Also missed by many friends and extended family. JB retired from Etobicoke Hydro after 36 years of service. He was an avid Nascar fan and a lover of fine cars. Born 82 years ago in Cedar Springs, Ontario, to the late Roy Crawford and Tillie Crawford Ball. Survived by her devoted children, Gail Poissant (Ray) of Chatham, Ron of Hamilton and Rick of Chatham. Predeceased by her daughter Janet Leigh (1962). Cherished grandchildren Jennifer Smith (Tony) of Fergus, Christine Taylor (Mark) of Erie Beach, Jeff Coles and companion Jessica Zaitz of Hamilton. Loving Grandy of Ashley Taylor, Meghan and Rachel Smith. Passed peacefully with his family by his side on January 30, 2014 at the age of 83 years.  Beloved husband of Leonarda (nee Mazza).  Loving father of Michael and wife Antonia, Serafino and wife Helene.  Cherished nonno to Joe and wife Tanya, Dina, Patrick and bis nonno to Michael and Anthony.  Will be missed by siblings Leonardo and wife Giovanna, Serafino and wife Anna, Agostino and wife Janice, Benedetta and husband Giuseppe. Brother in law of Francesco and Leonarda Mazza, Giuseppe and Giovanna Mazza, Giuseppina and Vincenzo Canzeri, and Salvatore and Teresa Mazza.  Good friends of Fernanda and Gabby Abdulahad.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.  Giuseppe and Leonarda created a wonderful life for their family starting when they were married 63 years ago.  They immigrated to Montreal from Montallegro, Sicily in 1960.  Retirement brought them to Windsor to be with their grandchildren for the past 15 years. Our deepest thanks to the compassionate care we received from the Dr.’s and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital- Ouellette Campus.  Donations made to Heart and Stroke would be appreciated by the family. Cathy Southcott feb 27-W150With heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived we announce her death.  She died peacefully in her 92nd year on January 28, 2014.  Cathy grew up in Exeter, moved to Grand Bend and since 2007 has been a part of Chateau Gardens, Parkhill.  Her husband Bob left us in July 2012, Cathy was the love of his life for 66 years.

She was the loving mother of daughter Jane and Bruce Lee, and son Barry and Carolyn.  Grandmother of Mark and Kelly, Benjamin and Shiho, Steven and Amanda; Tracy and Dennis, Kim and Jason, Brent and Kelly.  Great-Grandmother of Eric, Owen, Hannah, Kayna, Alexander; Alyssa, Sarah; Dylan, Carson; Jaci-Lynn, Meleena.  Extended family of Brooke, Melissa, Mark, Casee, Abbie, Stella, Matthew and Gage.  Dear sister of Irvine (Lois) Armstrong.  Predeceased by sister Lorraine Webber (1998) and parents William and Valeria (Bedford) Armstrong.

Cathy was a charter and active member of Exeter United Church UCW, Sunday school teacher for 25 years, champion skip of Exeter Women’s Curling Club, winner of several shuffleboard trophies in Florida, 2002 winner for her flower beds, and active for some years in the productions of The Exeter Times Advocate.  Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place in Exeter Cemetery.

Cathy’s family invites you to join them at a memorial service to celebrate her life at Grand Bend United Church on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 AM,  and for a reception following the service.  In lieu of flowers, friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Chateau Gardens Memorial Fund or Huron County Alzheimer Society.

The family would like to acknowledge the caring and supportive staff at Chateau Gardens, Parkhill and Dr. Andrew Whynot in Cathy’s struggle with Alzheimers.

Monsieur André Barbeau de Plaisance, originaire de Québec est décédé le samedi 18 janvier 2014 à l’âge de 83 ans.  Il était le tendre époux de feu Gisèle Parisien; le fils de feu Edouard Barbeau et de feu Marie-Rose Côté; le père bien-aimé de Brigitte (Gaëtan Gauthier), Richard Barbeau (Lynda St-Cyr) et Sylvain Barbeau ( Catherine Wellein); le grand-père adoré de Anthony Gauthier, Noémie Gauthier (Vincent Campbell), Frédérique Barbeau et Noémie Giroux; le cher frère d’Edouard Barbeau et Thérèse Barbeau-Raill.  Il fut prédécédé par deux soeurs: Raymonde et Yvette Barbeau.  Lui survivent également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et amis.

Grandement impliqué dans le milieu sportif de la Petite-Nation et camelot pour le Journal le Droit durant plusieurs années. Ce fut un homme d’action apprécié par plusieurs. Dear mother of Carol Hoare (Ron) of Lyn, Bonnie Kenney of Brockville, Gail Kelly of Nepean, Kenny Jowett (Nancy), Susan Smith and Tim Jowett (Irene) all of Brockville. Loving nanny of  15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Audrey is survived by a brother Walter Hodge (Uneeta) of Brockville as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Elmer and Elva (Westlake) Hodge, sisters Noreen Williams, Phyllis Staniforth, Mildred Dack and Beulah Poole-Jones.

 

Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel on Saturday February 1st, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Lyn Cemetery in the spring. Aarts, Peter 1Peacefully in his home, with his loving wife of almost 60 years,  Mary by his side, Peter made his journey to meet God on January 30, 2014 in his 90th year.  Beloved father of John Aarts of Strathroy, Frances Aarts (Brian) of Buckhorn, Angela Aarts (Kenn) of Victoria and Rosemary Hicks (Steve) of London.  Loving grandfather  to Cyrus, Stephanie, Petra, Paul, Samuel, Emily, Alexandra, Grace and Nathan.  Beloved brother to Dina Aarts, Mary Aarts and Tony Aarts (Gertrude) and sister-in-law Mary Aarts.  Predeceased by brothers William, John and Arnold.  He will be missed by his loving in-laws Nellie, Ann, Helma, Mary, Tina and Jerry and his many nephews, nieces and friends.  Peter was a man who fiercely loved his family, took immense pride in his home and was a dedicated member of the Strathroy community.  Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. with Knights of Columbus Service at 1:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7 p.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be  held in All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Father Lucio Couto officiating.  Interment  to follow in All Saints Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the SMGH Foundation.

DEMEURICHY, Jack of Erieau

WebsiteJack Gene Demeurichy of Erieau passed away on January 29, 2014 with his family at his side at CKHA.  Jack was born July 28, 1954 to the late Leon & Nellie Demeurichy.  He was a loving father and was proud of all three of his sons Robert Demeurichy (Sarah) of Erieau, Richard Demeurichy (Mark) of Erieau and Ryan Demeurichy (Amy) of Petawawa.  He will be remembered by their mother Connie Vidler.  Proud grandfather of Deacon and Daisy and a new arrival in March 2014.  Also deeply missed by his loving and devoted sisters and brothers-in-law Helen Ouellette (Al) and Betty Anne Smith (George Szatori).  Sorrowfully and lovingly missed by his girlfriend Kathy Kelly of Erieau as well as his nephews and his furry pal Buddy.  Predeceased by his daughter in law Rebecca Demeurichy.  Jack  was a 25 year member of the Erieau Fire Department and acted as Chief from 1991 – 2000.  He started as an employee at Erieau Packers, eventually moving into owning the business with a partner until selling it and taking a job with Presteve Foods in Wheatley until he  retired.  Jack will be remembered as a fine woodworker with a wicked sense of humor who would always make time for a good game of cards with friends.  He loved Erieau and served as a Councilor prior to amalgamation.   Friends and family are invited to gather at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Sunday February 2, 2014 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. to show their support to Jack’s family.  A Funeral Service conducted by Rev. Dear mother of Barbara Westman and Harvey Ratz of Dashwood and Linda and Barry Hobbs of London. Lena passed away in Carlingview Manor, Ottawa on December 23rd, in the loving company of her granddaughters Pamela Church and Patricia Brown.  Pre-deceased by her parents Peter and Annie Morris of New Liskeard, her husband Alf (1998) her daughters Marjory Church and Frances Giffen, her brothers Alfred, William, Barney (Frances) and Doug (Kathleen).  She is survived by her Bill (Florence), her nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, here son-in-law Joseph Church (Jacquie), her sister-in-law Ruth Smith, her nephew Scott Morris (Maureen) and niece Judith Morris (Gerry Page).  Mom was blessed with a fantastic extended family and we thank you all, especially Jim and Donnalene Dalrymple and Ruth McDonald.  Our thanks to everyone at Applefest Lodge for making her life so meaningful.  A Memorial Service will be held in Heritage United Church (formerly Salem United Church) on Saturday May 31st, 2014 at 1 pm.  Interment in Salem Cemetery. WillmshanswebWILLMS, Hans (John) – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in his 72nd year.  Devoted husband and soulmate of Marion.  Loving father to his sons Hans Willms (Maria), Robert Willms and Jason Willms (Megan).  Proud grandfather of Alexis, Emrie, Austin and Chelsea.

Survived by his brother Rudy Willms.  Lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Derek Randall (Jean) and sisters-in-law Ann Craig (David) and Margaret Randall (Gary).  Beloved uncle of Alyson, Suzanne, John, Sarah, Rachel, James, Stefanie and Jordan as well as all of his extended family.  Hans immigrated to Canada from Bremen, Germany in 1952 with his parents Wilhelm and Anne Marie Willms (nee Hubental) and brother Rudy.  He travelled extensively as a young man in the Canadian Air Force.  He loved cooking, cabinet work and cycling.  A tribute to Hans’ life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, February 16, 2014, 1:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 55, 576 Brant Street, Woodstock.  If so desired, donations in Hans’ memory can be made to the London Health Sciences

MacLARY, Helen – With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Gramma and Great Gramma, Helen Grace MacLary (Donmoyer) (nee Vyse), on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in her 90th year.  She was predeceased by her husband Harris G. MacLary (2007).  She is survived by her children, Sharon Kruse, Ed Donmoyer (Marilyn), Bill Donmoyer (Linda) and Dean Donmoyer (Wanda) as well as her grandchildren David Kruse (Jane), Amanda Axon (Steve), Stephanie Kila, David Gregory (Chris), Kate Reid (John), Shelby Donmoyer, Nick Donmoyer, Samantha Roe (Jay), Kyle Donmoyer and Mike Donmoyer and their families.  The second eldest of the twelve children of William and Edna Vyse, she was predeceased by Harry, Shirley, Midge, Bill, Polly and Kitty and is survived by Don, Jim, Gary, Judy and Dave.  Helen will be remembered as an avid bridge player, keen naturalist, camper, Lamon’s Bakery cake decorator, and as a founding member of Probus in Woodstock.  She will be greatly missed as the matriarch of her large extended family.  As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation, but the family would like to extend an invitation to all family and friends to a “Celebration of Her Life” on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Navy Club, 959 James Street, Woodstock.  In Lieu of flowers, the family would greatly acknowledge donations to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or VON- Sakura House, and can be made through the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St, North,  Woodstock.
