ROGERS: Morris of Brights Grove

Morris Rogers passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospice, with his family at his side, on Wednesday October 31, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann Rogers. Morris was father to Sue and Michael Schnare, Ian and Alison Rogers, Lesley Oliver, and Lorraine and John McIntyre; grandfather to Kyle, Adam, Steven, David, Tayjah, Elijah, Chase, A.J., Kate and Lily; and brother of Dianne, Greg, Sandy, and Kathy.  Morris was a Dow retiree, and a long standing member of both the Golden K Kiwanis Club and the Adopt a Scientist Program.  The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the St. Joseph Hospice for their compassion and care. A private family service has been held. A celebration of Morris’ life will be held for his family and friends at Huron Oaks Golf Club, 2587 Lakeshore Road, on Friday November 2, 2012 between 2:00-4:00 pm (casual attire). Morris will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all the lives he has touched. Peacefully passed away in Sudbury surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Daughter of the late Hermenigilde and of the late Colombe (née Belair) Rochon. Wife of the late Laurent “Larry” Guindon, predeceased in 1996. Cherished mother of Rick Guindon (Jacqueline “Jackie”) of Sudbury and Lise Ferguson (Barry) of Brechin. Predeceased by her daughter Linda Talbot (late Yvan Eden). Dear sister of Damien, Rejean, Yvon (Irene), Claude (Bonnie), Barbara Ingram (Jack), Onile (Anita), Viviane Quesnel (late Maurice), Mercedes Rochon, Marie Lou Aubin (late Clement) and Rejeanne Baker (Wayne). Predeceased by her siblings; Emerise Derksen (late Neil), Yolande Dubé (late Léonard) and Reantal Rochon. Sadly missed by Henriette Guindon (late Jean-Guy) and Fernande Guindon (late Fernand) both of Québec. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chad (Anka), Joël (Alexis), Todd (Cindy), Michel, Stephanie and her great-grandchildren, Brandyn, Harris, Jordan and Maddox.  She was born in Gogama and moved to Timmins where she met Larry, the love of her life. They eventually settled in Sudbury. She was an avid bingo player and bowler, volunteering many years for the YBC at Notre Dame Bowl. She was most happy when spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind generosity and witty sense of humor. A world of thanks to the wonderful staff at Pioneer Manor, especially Park Place and The Lodge on 2nd floor, as well as friends and family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 25th, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Ste-Anne des Pins Church, Sudbury.  In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to Pioneer Manor in Rita’s honour would be greatly appreciated.

The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 73 years. Son of the late Zéphir and of the Lucienne (née Desmarais) Goulet. Beloved husband of 52 years to Edith (née Lemire) Goulet of Azilda. Loving father of Christian Goulet (Jessica), Josée Goulet, Renée Goulet all of Azilda and Normand Goulet (Laura) of Niagara Falls. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Nicholas, Nadia, Joëlle, Chelsie, Jessy, Kyle, Hudson, Carter and Jake. In keeping with André’s wishes there will be no visitation. Born October 25th, 1932. It is with great sorrow that the family announces his peaceful passing at his residence on Friday, October 19th, 2012 in Sudbury at the age of 79 years. Son of the late Sandford and the late Grace (née Chapman) Armstrong. Beloved husband of over 55 years to Isabel (née Tremblay) Armstrong who passed away in 2011. Loving father of Beverley Sabourin (Richard) of Hanmer, Barbara Young (Molson) of Sudbury, Sharon Armstrong (Guy Gagne) of Garson, James Jr. Armstrong (Wendy) of Sudbury, and Gregory Armstrong (Christine Bouffard) of Lively.  Dear brother of John Armstrong (late Laurette). Predeceased by his sisters Evelyn Allard (late Romeo) and Joyce Fox (late Jack). Cherished grandfather of David, Darryl, Danielle, David, James, Kelly, Rebecca, Victoria, Desirée, Cedric and great-grandfather of Emmally, David, Ella and Nolan.  At the young age of 2, James and his brother Jack lived in a children’s shelter. Two years later, their foster care parents, Ernest and Louella Bartlett opened their hearts and home in Warren to these young boys. Raised in a loving home, 17 year old James moved to Sudbury and became a miner with Inco. He then met the love of his life “Isabel”, they married in 1955 and together raised 5 beautiful children. After 32 years, he retired from Inco. James will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather who was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. Well known by his friends and family as “Teddy Bear”, an avid outdoorsman and sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, curling and coaching the McLean playground hockey team.  The most cherished memories were created by the many wonderful years spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and canine friend Rambo at their camp on Low Water Lake.  Jim will sadly be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and feline friend Buddy.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Thursday, October 25th, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9:30p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the Children’s Aid Society would be greatly appreciated.

Aubertin: Sandy (Saylor), a resident of Bothwell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the University Hospital, London at the age of 59. Born in Chatham, beloved daughter of the late Donald and Shirley (nee Doan) Saylor (McMaster).  Loving mother of Steven Aubertin (Kari), Robert Aubertin (Jenna Glover), Jonathan Welch (Heather Lorimer). Sadly missed by grandchildren Shelby Aubertin, Cooper and Jaxon Aubertin and Nevaeh Welch. Son of the late Hector and the late Rebecca (née Hamelin) Gascon.  Beloved husband of Evelyn (née Proulx) Gascon and the late Anita (née Poitras) Gascon of Sudbury. Loving father of Lauraine McCarthy (Mike), Linda Nelson (Robert),Suzanne Roy (Ron), Theresa  Whyte (James), Raymond, Carol Golder (Wayne) and step-children Rosi Cameirao (Danny), Sandra Oberfuchshuber (Widowed), Beverly Farrell (Peter), Valerie Ayres (Kevin), Adele Gauthier, Mike Farrell (Marisa), Cletus Farrell and predeceased by his son Gerry and daughter Danielle Herresthal (Peter). Dear brother of Ronald (Jeannine), Yvette (Sylvain) and step-brother Wayne Proulx (Shirley). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Lucienne (Ken), May (Johnny), Albert (Betty), Wilfred (Anita) and Jérome “Jerry” (Theresa). Cherished grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by his loving family, friends and best fishing and flying buddies-Viotta Rintala and Dick Tincombe. We wish to thank all the staff in Emergency and ICU at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion. Moe retired after working 30 years for Inco, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5793, an avid fisherman and he had a great sense of humor. PELLIZZARI, Sergio John

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sergio Pellizzari, aged 77 years on the afternoon of Monday October 29th surrounded by his loving family & caretakers at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. Sergio will be sorely missed by his wife of 56 years, Imelda and his children Loretta (& son-in-law Norman Pizzale), Julia (& son-in-law Jean Martin), Gerry (& daughter-in-law Denise Gervais), Sergio Jr. and Cory, his grandchildren and their partners John Ryan Martin, Laura Pizzale (Erich Preston), Ashley Pellizzari (Tim Griggs), Dustin Martin (Natalie Strittmatter), Gerry Pellizzari Jr. (Megan Tremblett) and by his extended family and friends.  We would like to express our appreciation and thanks for the loving care shown by the nurses and entire staff of St. Joseph’s 4th Floor Chest Unit, the amazing team of thoracic surgeons led by Dr. Colin Schieman who gave Sergio an extra three months of life and the compassionate attendance of both the spiritual care and the palliative care teams.

The family will receive visitors at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Fallson Friday November 2nd from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm, with prayers by the Knights of Columbus at 8 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 3rd, 9:30 am at St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, 50 Pelham Square, Fonthill, with internment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Peacefully, Wednesday morning at Health Sciences North, October 17, 2012, John “Jack” O’Connell in his 78th year: dear son of Harry and Toini (nee Cresty) O’Connell, both predeceased; beloved husband of Lillian (nee Shenkaruk) O’Connell: loving father of David (wife Rosemary) of Espanola and Karen of Sudbury; lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren, Davis, Emily and Carly; also survived by his sister Nancy (husband Gordon) of Arizona,  and sister Linda (husband Gord Dailey) of Sudbury: predeceased by his sister Mary and her husband Bud Howard. Dearly missed by his sister-in-law Patricia Stupak (husband Steve and family) of Ottawa. Jack retired as a salesman in the Mining Equipment Industry. He was an avid sportsman and a very devoted Sudbury Wolves and Toronto Maple Leafs supporter. Jack enjoyed his summers at the golf course. At the family’s request there will be no visitation. WRIGHT, Elmer (Jack) – E.J., Emmy – Peacefully at Bluewater Health, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Barwise), 1996. Dear father of Pat (Wayne) Begarnie, Greg (Fay), Tom, Richard Wright. Loving grandfather of Ann (Mike), Michael (Vicky), Camie (Paul), Ben (Aileen), and Derek (Shayna). Great grandfather of Jason, Mandy, Ian, Tamara, Tyler, Kyle, Tianna, Brycen and Payton and great great grandfather of Milo. Predeceased by his parents Christine and Charles Wright, brother Ivan (Shirley), Russ (Doris), Max (Betty), Jack, Ross, sisters Hazel (Ed), Anita (Ron), Kay (Sam), brother-in-law Gordon (Jean) Barwise. Survived by sisters-in-law Theresa and Donna (Gordon Pickell) and many nieces and nephews. E.J. Joined the RCN and volunteered for the Combined Operations. He participated in all 5 areas of operation during WWII, serving as a coxswain on LCI 1375 aboard the HMCS Prince David. He was an avid camper and a member of the 4T’s for many years. He retired from Prestolite and the OWRC. For many years he enjoyed his time spent with friends at the Legion. He was a life member of the Navy Club, the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62. A celebration of E.J.’s life will be held from the D.J. Robb Funeral Home on Saturday, November 3rd at 11:00 am. A private family interment of ashes will take place. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #62 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Friday evening at 6:45 pm. On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, Dorothy Joan (nee Hair) Gale was reunited with her beloved husband Jack.  Leaving to mourn are her children Barbara (Gary) McEwen, Joan (Clifford) Smith, Terry (Mary) Gale, and her son in law Jerry Rader (late Brenda, September 2012).  Grandmother of Scott (Jodie), Jason (Chrystal), Darren, Jennifer, Mike (Jen), Cameron (Stephanie), Jaclyn, Deryk, Peter, Ashley, Jodi (Rusty), and Stacey.  Great grandmother of Donny, Jordan, Aidan, Lennon, and Sunni.  Survived by her sisters Ruth, Marjorie, and Barbara, and many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Mae Hair, and her sisters and brothers in law Noreen and Alan McLean and Nancy and Harold Turnbull, and great grandson Liam McEwen.   Dorothy was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #176 Ladies Auxilliary and a Past Zone Commander.

The family of Alice Pigeau are saddened to announce her passing on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Maison Vale Hospice at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Lorrain Pigeau (1977). She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lorraine Bedard (Marcel), sons Roger (Pierrette), Denis (Louise), Robert (Barb) and Raymond (Carole), as well as her ten grandchildren Marc-André, Daniel, David, Michel, Philip, Lizanne, Melissa, Taylor, Brody and Courtney and ten great grandchildren. Alice was the daughter of Ernest and Exilia Poulin (predeceased) and will be missed by her sister Laurentia Lyrette and brothers Lionel, Martial, Victor and Fernand Poulin and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dora and brothers Jean-Baptiste and Gerry. As per her request, there was no funeral or visitation. Son of the late Rene Porlier and the late Rose (née Dionne) Porlier. Loving father of Paul (Deborah) of Sudbury and Carole (Kyle) Williams of Thunder Bay. Dear brother of Maurice Porlier (Rose), Noel Porlier (Helene), Rolande Prevost, Cecile Landry, Aline Nadeau (Rheal) and predeceased by his brothers Robert and Jean-Marie. Loving grandfather of Natalie, Jessica, Brennan and Brooklynn. Leo was born and raised in Bigwood, married the former Claire Rancourt in 1960. He retired in 1994 from Bell Canada and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Cancer clinic as well as the oncology department. Loving father of Louise (Michel) Quesnel and Donald Rocheleau (Lorraine Gosselin).   Dear brother of  Gérard (Claudette), predeceased by Gilles (Fernande), Michael (Lorraine), Robert (Annette), Shirley (Robert Legault) and by sister-in-law Françoise Sauvé (Raymond) all from Sudbury.   Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Richard, Rachelle, Michelle, Mélanie and his great-grandchildren Cody, Savanna and Zacharie. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Jean-Claude was the founder of Sudbury Iron and Copper Limited.  He retired in 2007 and spent his time enjoying God’s Country.  Thank you to the nurses at Health Sciences North Emergency department and also the Chemo and Radiation staff.  A special thank you to Dr. Luison and Bayshore nurses.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m.  A funeral service will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Robert (Bob) Wallace Matthews of Val Thérèse

 Past away peacefully, surrounded by his family, the evening of Friday, October 12, 2012 at Ramsey Lake Health Centre in Sudbury. Bob was in his 72ndyear and is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Stewart) of 45 years, and his three children, Jane (Craig), Timothy (Donna), and Steven (Jody).  Beloved grandpa of Janelle, Austin, Jacob, Robert, and Ryan.  He is predeceased by his parents and his three siblings. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A special thank you to the Sunday night group in Capreol and to the compassionate health care team (ER and ICU) at Ramsey Lake Heath Centre. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation but a celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of Peace church in Capreol on Monday October 15, 2012 at 2p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

KELLY, Sara Jean (Sproat)

On October 30, 2012, at the age of 37, Sara passed away after a lengthy illness due to diabetic complications.  She is survived by her children Sophie and Thomas; brother, Bobby; sister, Dale Azzarello (Chuck); mother, Doris; nieces and nephews, Amelia, Bianca, Kiera, Kyle and Jessela, and several Aunts, uncle and cousins.  Predeceased by her father, Robert Sproat (2003).  Thank you to Dr. Danny Lagritaria and the Dialysis Unit,Ontario St.site, for their loving care of Sara. 

Family will receive friends at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, on Friday, November 2nd from 1-2pm.  Funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2pm.  Interment will be held atFairviewCemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Sophie and Thomas’, care fund.

Fille de feu Israel et Diana (née Trudel) Bellehumeur.  Chère mère dévouée de Céline Mageau (Richard) de Hanmer, Carole Belcourt (Paul) d’Elk Lake, Ghislaine Robineau (Michel) de St-Charles, Patrick Boileau (Debbie) de Cobourg, Guy Boileau (Johanne) et Marc Boileau tous de Parry Sound.  Lui survit 2 sœurs et 1 frère. Prédécédée par 9 frères et sœurs. The family announces with profound sorrow her death in Sudbury, Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 at the age of 20 years. Beloved daughter of Daren and Tracy-Lea (née Ralko) Reid.  Loving sister to Brandon Reid (Michelle Lefebvre).  Cherished granddaughter of Clyde Reid (late Hilda Reid), Rick and Shirley Hintz. Dear niece of Marden (Sherry-Lee) Reid, Dallas Hintz (Al McLeod) and Deana (Chris McNaughton).  Lovingly remembered by her cousins Tristan, Cherish, Curran, Callista, Ava and Marla. Sadly missed by many relatives, friends and especially her canine buddy “Dakota”.  Kayla will be forever remembered as a fighter from an early age with a passion for life and a tremendous love for her family, friends and co-workers. Always there to lend a helping hand, all will remember her laughter, wonderful sense of humour and her daredevil spirit. Cole– Peacefully with family and friends at his side at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Tuesday October 30, 2012. Harvey “Graydon” Cole, age 90 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 57 years to Elsie (Switzer). Loving father of Bill Cole and his wife Kathleen of Palm Harbor, Florida. Dear brother of Lloyd Cole of Etobicoke, Barbara (Don) Browning and Pat Cole all of Barrie. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graydon was predeceased by; his parents, Harvey and Levina Cole; mother-in-law, Matilda Switzer; his sisters, Iva, Norma, Hilda, Laurine, Edith, Phyllis and Marion and by his sister-in-law, Eunice. Graydon was born August 8, 1922 in Barrie and served in the Canadian Infantry during W.W. II from 1942-1945. He proudly joined the Ontario Provincial Police and was stationed in Kitchener, Orillia and Sombra before retiring in 1977. He then served 4 terms on the Lambton County School Board representing Moore Township and he was Board Chairman in 1983. Graydon was a long time member and Elder of Corunna United Church, he was a Past President of the Lions Club and was a founding member of the Ontario Provincial Police Association. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown. Doreen Merriall Leger (nee Cottom), of Wyoming, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in her 89th year.  Beloved wife of the late Hank Leger.  Loving Aunt to Jo-Anne (John Davis) and Brian (JoAnne).  She will be missed by her great-nieces, Tracey, Tracy Ann, Tamara, Maggie, Amy, Katie and Teia and her great nephew Dustin.  Dear great great Aunt to Cydney, Katalyn and Tabatha.  She was predeceased by her parents Percy and Vera Cottom, her brother Ed (and his wife Helen), and her sisters Shirley (and her husband Pete Ferri) and Norma (and her husband Lucien Parizeau).  At Doreen’s request, private family arrangements have been made. Peacefully with his family at his side at Strathroy Hospital on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, Robert (Bob) Wilson of Kerwood in his 77th year.  Beloved husband of Alice (Cameron).  Predeceased by his daughter Susan.  Loving father of Brian (Janet) and Steve (Mary),  father-in-law of Frank (Chris) Sweeney.  Proud grandfather of Ryan (Andrea), Sean, Allison, Nicholas, Christy, Josh and Emma.  Cherished great-grandpa of Zachery.  Survived by his sisters Marie (Carl), Pat (Bill), and sisters-in-law Myrtle and MaryAnne and brother-in-law Allen (Joan).  Also predeceased by his brothers Ken (Betty), Clayton and Basil and his brother-in-law Howard.  Visitation was held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Friday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service was also held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1 pm. with Rev.
