Campbell, Gertrude at her home, Herritage Place in Aylmer on Saturday, June 30, 2012 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late James Campbell(1974). Loving mother of Bill Campbell of St. Thomas, Dan Campbell of Aylmer, Doris Groves and husband Bob of Waterloo, Cliff Campbell and wife Marilynne of Ottawa, Margo Campbell of London and Don Campbell and wife Nancy of Aylmer. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gertie was a dedicated member of the Aylmer Baptist Church. WATSON, Shirley Edith passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg in her 85th year.  Beloved wife of the late Robert Watson “Bob”.  Loving mother of Donna Bradley and her partner Ralph Canonico of Oshawa and Dianne Green and her husband Terry of Australia.  Shirley will be missed by her grandchildren Robert Parker (Myrnalyn), Curtis Bradley (Christine), Jo-Anne McDow, and great-grandchildren Brittany and Lee-Anne McDow and Maddisyn Parker.  A memorial service will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. FAGAN – BYWATER, John “Jack” Vernon – It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Jack in his 89th year on Friday June 29, 2012 at home. Beloved husband of the late Colleen (2007). He will be missed by his loving sons, Richard (Lorna), Craig (Sharon) and Blake (Suzanne).  Jack was the proud grandfather of Shane, Jesse, Robin, Dustin, Justine, Heidi, Gavin, Daniel, Emilie and John, as well as nine great-grandchildren.  Jack is also survived by his brothers Barry (Jean) and Blain (Cookie), sisters Betty Craig (Len) and Dorothy Filipetti and many nieces and nephews. Jack will be loving missed by his cherished, special friend Florence Rintoul.  Predeceased by his father John Fagan, step-father Alfred Bywater, mother Marjorie Fagan-Bywater and sister Mary Olimer.   Jack and Colleen lived in Orillia then Sarnia, raising their three sons before purchasing Island Lake Lodge in Northern Ontario, where for 20 years they worked side-by-side, providing loving hospitality to their guests and employees alike.  Upon retirement Jack and Colleen gratefully spent their summers on Four Winds Island in Wah-Wash-Kesh Lake and wintered in Homosassa Springs Florida before “settling down” back in Sarnia.  Jack had a passion for playing pool and enjoyed the companionship of his friends at the Strangeway Centre.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Bridget for the loving and compassionate care she gave to Jack and to neighbours, Lori & Dino Deveiga for the many meals and special kindness they showed. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and always the coach on June 28, 2012 at the age of 82 years.  Loving and devoted husband of Grace (nee King).  Cherished father of Don & wife Janet, Deborah & husband Lawrence Deslippe, and Kim & husband Pat Leafeve.  Dear grandfather of Chris, Don & Joycelyn, Kory, Kelly, Troy, and Jack.  Great-grandfather of Ian, Ashley and James.  Longtime friend of the late Larry “Lar” Ouellette (2012), and he will be sadly missed by his furry friend Popeye & Kit.  Predeceased  by one brother Fr. PHILLIPS – Elton Charles. Carol and Craig sadly announce the peaceful passing of Elton after a 6 month struggle with cancer at STEGH on Thursday, June 28th, 2012 at the age of 68. He died in the arms of his beloved Carol, his wife of 44 years. Elton also leaves his dear son, Craig, of London and precious Ruby and Cooper, his ever faithful kitties. Predeceased by his brother Don. Elton was much loved by his mother and father-in-law, the late Jack and Grace Catherwood, along with all of Carol’s family in Brantford. After a long career with Ontario Hydro, he currently served on the technical panel for the IESO in Toronto. Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment of ashes will occur at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford at a later date.

A public memorial service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, ON on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 at 11:00am. BILDFELL, Johann Torfi – passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.  He was born in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Ethel Muriel.  Loving father of Ron (Louise), Laurie (Brendan Murphy) predeceased and Rob (Rosilin).  Cherished grandfather of Christopher Bildfell, Gudrin Bildfell, Ciara Murphy, Tessa Murphy, Nicholas Murphy, Kristen Bildfell and Connor Bildfell.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Dear brother of Marvin, Lawrence, Clarence, Oli, Kris and John.  Predeceased by brothers Gisli and Albert and sister Valgurder.
Torfi joined the RCMP in 1940.  He was stationed at Norman Wells and Yellowknife for 3 years at a time when dog sleds were the primary mode of transportation.  He retired from the RCMP in 1964.  Following retirement he began a career in manufacturing and invented a vehicle mounted air deflector.  Torfi resided at Fairwinds Lodge for the past twelve years where he was known and respected for the compassion and care he always showed to his fellow residents.  He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A private family funeral service will be held on July 3, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2001 Dundas Street E., London, Ontario.  Friends will be welcome for lunch at Smith Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia to celebrate Torfi’s life on July 3, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME. Peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home in Delaware, Ontario in her 94th year, Catherine McGinty passed away. Catherine was the last remaining sibling in a family of 7. Predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Catherine immigrated from Scotland in 1951 settling in Rothesay, New Brunswick, where she was a domestic caregiver. She moved to Sarnia, Ontario in 1962, where she was a dedicated employee of Trillium Villa Nursing home as a breakfast cook for 15 years. Catherine was an avid bowler, belonging to several 5 pin and 10 pin leagues. She loved to cycle and walk. Catherine was a member of the Sarnia St. Andrews Senior Group. She will be sadly missed by her adopted family of Mike and Sheila McAvity of Komoka. She was an extra special nana to Joseph McAvity of Toronto and Laurie and Roma DuChateau (McAvity) of California. She is survived by 1 niece in Scotland, Sadie Mair. Cremation has taken place, with burial to follow at a later date. Beloved husband of the late Viola Charlotte (Kimball) Chapman (September 20, 1994). Cherished father of Linda and Frederick Hoffner (Kerwood), Edward (Ted) and Susan Chapman (Brantford) and Laurel and David Pattenden (Mooretown). Dearly missed grandfather of James Hoffner and Adrienne Lee, Anne Hoffner, Jennifer Chapman, Scott and Dana Chapman, Ian and Julia Pattenden, Philip Pattenden and great grandfather of Aidan Hoffner, Maeve Hoffner and Charlotte Chapman. Brother in law to Kay McPhail and William Kimball. Ted was predeceased by his siblings: Alice Marks, Mill Bending, Nell Dent, Jessie Ferguson, Grace Taylor, Bill, Bob, Art and Jim Chapman. Ted was a World War 11 Veteran, long time member and past president of the Sarnia Legion and member of the Pt Edward Ex Servicemen’s Club. Amateur sport was a big part of Ted’s life and he was inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame. A memorial service will be held from the Chapel of the D.J. Peacefully passed away Thursday morning, June 14, 2012 at Health Sciences North in his 79th year. Beloved son of Ray J. and Doris (nee Chislett) Barnard, both predeceased. Loving husband of Flora (nee Moore); Loving father of Drew (wife Kathy) of Vancouver, B.C. and Dr. Barbara Barnard (husband Ken Williams) of London, Ontario. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Miriam, Elisha, Conner and Emma. Dear brother of Alan (wife Cleo) of Sudbury, Joy Barr (husband David) of Ithaca, New York; Predeceased by his sister Barbara Jean in 1952; dear brother-in-law of Patricia McDonald, Kim Rheault and Helen Moore; Predeceased by sisters-in-law Beaulah Whidden, Colleen Jordan and brother-in-law Harold Moore. Bob was born in Peterborough, raised in Sudbury, and married the former Flora Moore in 1958. He graduated from Western University in 1956 with a Business Administration Honours degree and in 1958 from University of Toronto, Banting Institute, Canadian School of Embalming. Bob was a Funeral Director with the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home retiring in 1984 following the sale of the family business. He was Past President of the North Eastern Funeral Service, Past President of the Ontario Funeral Service Association and Past President of the Canadian Funeral Service Association, as well as, Past President of the Sudbury Shrine Club. Bob served in various capacities over many years with St-Andrew’s United Church and was the treasurer of St-Andrew’s Place Board of Directors for over 35 years. He was a former football referee and referee-in-chief with the North Eastern Ontario Football Association. Bob valued his community service to others: there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 17th at 3 p.m. in St-Andrew’s United Church, Larch Street Sudbury. A private interment will take place in the family plot in Parklawn Cemetery. It is with great sorrow that the family announces his death in Val Caron on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 81years. Son of the late Arthur and of the late Rose (née Trepanier) Pellerin. Beloved husband of Thérèse (née Boulanger) Pellerin. Loving father of Ray Pellerin (Sylvie) of Sudbury, Pauline Gordon (Marc) of Las Vegas, Jeannine Langevin (Ron) of Chelmsford and France Simard (André) of Dowling. Dear brother of Aurel (Martine), Gisèle Matthieu (Ray), Alvarèse, Noëlla Vaillancourt (Ron), Yvonne Laplante (Lomer) and survived by his 2 sisters-in-law Claire and Solange. Predeceased by his brothers Hermace, Armand, Paul and Ulric. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Yves (Michelle), Jacques (Joanne), Serge (Christine), Michel (Mélanie), Angèle (Kevin), Christiane and great-grandchildren Jacob, Caleb, Ocean, Soleil, Etoile, Aime, Mikaela, Ayden, Alex and Jordyn. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. At Jacques’ request, there will be no visitation and no service. The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the age of 58 years.  Son of Elvine  (née Richard) Breau and the late William Breau.  Dear husband of Gisèle Claire Breau (née Godin) of Azilda. Loving father of Richard (Melissa) of Dowling, grandfather to Kaleb. Lovingly remembered by many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and his feline friend Mimi. John worked at Vale for over 30 years, as a chemist and his last year for internal audit. He was proud of his profession and taught Chemistry at Laurentian University for over 25 years on a part-time basis. Upon retiring John started his own consulting business, which he enjoyed. His main hobby was cruising with the Sudbury Corvette Club. John was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. John was also heavily involved with charitable organization having contributed to the success of many “Cruize for Food” events. John had great faith.  He truly will be missed. The family would like to thank the emergency department for their care of John and the Sudbury Regional Police officers who were so kind and helpful in our time of sorrow. John is now at equilibrium . The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd E., Sudbury, Monday June 18, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Funeral will be celebrated at 7 p.m. at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Peacefully at home, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, after a long and happy life.  Wife of the late Air Vice Marshal D. Lister.  Survived by her daughters Lynne, Elizabeth (Merlyn) and son John.  Step children Murray (Barbara), Sydney (Marvin), Jaye and their families, grandson Michael (Denise) and their two daughters Kate and Sarah, sister Barbara.  Predeceased by her sister Jeanne, brothers Gordon and Richard and grandson John.

Born inWinnipegin 1916.  Educated at Balmoral Hall,Winnipegand St. Alban’s,Hertfordshire,England.  “Betsy” was past Chair of The May Court Club, Co-Chair of The United Way, Chair of the Women’s Committee and the Acquisitions Committee of theArtGallery, all inLondon,Ontario.

She was a wonderful Mother with a wicked sense of humour, an enthusiastic golfer, sailor, gardener, artist, bridge player and hostess.

SHAW, Susan Marie (Niagara Falls)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our loving sister, aunt, niece, and friend to many.  Susan passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the age of 58.  Susan was the loving sister to Sandra (Mark) Farrell and Gary Shaw (Michelle Nagy), all ofGuelph.  Very loving and devoted aunt to Ashley,Regina, and Kevin Farrell, Rachel and Nicole Shaw, all ofGuelph.  Special aunt to Abbey and Bender.  Predeceased by her dad, Grant Shaw (1994), her mom, Edna Marie Shaw (1998) and her brother Grant Shaw (2008).  Susan leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends that she called often,  She never forgot to call on a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion.  Susan worked as a nurse practitioner for many years at the GNGH.  She was a devoted church member at Falls View Brethren In Christ Church.  The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held at Falls View Brethren In Christ Church, 7189 Drummond Rd. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill.  Those who wish may make a memorial donation to either the Celiac Association or to Falls View Brethren In Christ Church.
