Dear mother of Edith (Mohcine) Forray-Talouati, London and Marie-Claude (Sylvain) Forray-Farley, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Annabelle, Olivier and Leila. Sister of Georgette Drainville, Montréal and Claudette Arsenault, Trois-Rivières. Sister-in-law of Mary (Al) Johnson, Harrow. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Valerio & Yvonne Bérard, sister Yvette Gamelin and brother Bertrand Bérard. Nicole was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital, retiring in 1997 after 30 years of service. Also a very active member of the French community. Roger Charbonneau of Sarnia

CHARBONNEAU, Roger John – At Bluewater Health on Friday, February 24, 2012. Roger was born on January 16, 1925 in Timmins, Ontario. Brother of Guy (Kathy) Charbonneau, Sarnia, Gerald (Francoise) Charbonneau, Sherbrooke, Quebec, the late Gisele (Vince) Gavan and the late Lucille (Howard) Weston. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Emile & Marie Charbonneau. Roger worked in service in Halifax during W.W.II. He also worked in the accounting department at Dow Chemical in Sarnia and then as a French translator for Eaton’s in Toronto. He returned to Sarnia in the early ‘90’s and lived at the Sandpiper for many years. At Roger’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in mid-April. Please check the Observer and the funeral home website then. Predeceased by her sister Helda (2002) and sisters-in-law Bianca Pecile (1999) and Laura Braun (2011). Maria was best known as owner of the Sarnia Tavern with her husband Leon from 1962 until 1987. Maria’s death has left a great emptiness in the hearts of many, but she will be remembered with much love and gratitude for all that she has given. With much sadness, the family of Beth Orchard announces her passing on February 27th, 2012 at Victoria Hospital in London, following a brief illness.

Beth leaves behind her loving family, Trevor and Monika Orchard, Sherry and Bill Turner, Kim Orchard (pre-deceased, 2008) and Teri and Marty Vanos. She was the proud Grandma of Cristal (Jamie) Leyten, Aaron (Jill) Turner, Jennifer (Chris) Orchard, Shaun (Melissa) Orchard and Randy Orchard. She was the loving GG to Tristen and Paityn-Lee Orchard, Hailey, Alivia and Nathan Leyten and Jayla and Keegan Turner. Beth was pre-deceased by husbands Len Thomas (1990) and Don Orchard (1963). Sister of Muriel Harrison, Wabamun, Alberta.

Beth was a kind and gentle person who always cared about others. During her journey she had many people offer her care and support. Our thanks to the many friends and caregivers over the years who were a special part of her life.

Peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, Albert Williams passed away at the age of 85.  Beloved husband of the late Eva Jayne and father of the late Curtis.  Loving father of Bruce Williams (Colleen Brereton), Tony (Kim) Williams, and the late Cindy (Ed) Sanders.  Cherished grandfather of Jason (Tracey) Williams, Jenn (Knute) Oliver, Andrea (Matt) Crabtree, Curtis Williams (Kellie Haywood) and Kathleen and Diana Sanders.  Will be missed by many great grandchildren.  Predeceased by a great granddaughter Aleshia Fisher.  Bert moved to Sarnia from Newfoundland in 1952, when he met the love of his life Eva Jayne. He loved the sea, worked in the Chemical Valley and managed the Royal Oak Towers for Drewlo Holdings for many years where he and Jayne had many close friends. Bert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He is the dear husband of the late Edna Anne (Johnston) Baxter (2004) and loving father of Mark Stephen Baxter of Sarnia and the late Brian Joseph Baxter (1982), grandfather of Chelsea and Shannon of Sarnia and brother of Hannah Laughlin of Letterkenny, Ireland. Joe was predeceased by 19 brothers and sisters. He retired from Cabot Carbon after many years of service and was a member of the “Anglican Churchmen” and longtime member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Viola Louise Ruhl of Chesley, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Thursday, February 23, 2012 in her 94th year.

Loving mother of David of Chesley and mother-in-law of Judy Ruhl of R.R. #4 Owen Sound. Special mother to Reg and Gwen Rands of Chesley Lake. Cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Viola was predeceased by her husband Basil, sons Ross and Fred, sister Marjorie Sachs and her parents, Frederick and Doris (Swartz) Heft.

Catherine Jean Davidson of Strathroy, formerly of Watford, following a courageous battle with cancer, in her 62nd year. Beloved daughter of Norma and Floyd Davidson, dear sister of Jan (Dougall) Graham and Ron (Bernadette) Davidson. Special niece of Marie (Russell) McCracken, Margaret (Bill) Reedy, Don (Pat) Shortt, and Vida Exley. Dear Aunt of Sarah (John) Sipkens, Craig (Kerry) Williams, Dan (Sarah) Davidson, Cheryl Galloway (David Stewart), Heather (Todd) Sheppard and Bryan Davidson (Jackie Pisnnoneault). Larry F. Amundson of Point Edward

It is with great sadness that the family of, Larry F. Amundson announce his passing at LHSC- University Campus on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the age of 69.  Beloved husband of Mary Josephine (Bosy) Amundson.  Loving father of Cheryl (Amundson) and Kevin Chafe, Sandy (Amundson) and Jeff Robertson, Lori Amundson and Steve Palmer, Daryl Amundson and Amy Harding.  Cherished grandfather of 11.  Brother-in-law of Stan and the late Sally (2010) Bosy.  Dearest and closest life time friend of Ron and Carol Prysaznuk.  Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Leona Amundson.  Larry was employed at CN Rail for 33 years (retired in 1997) and was a member of the Point Edward Ex-Serviceman’s Club.  A memorial service will be held to celebrate Larry’s life on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.  Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please). Andy Bell ~ A life of dignity, respect for all and unconditional love for his family.  Andy has completed his journey.  Predeceased by his wife Evelyn (2001), daughter-in-law Gail (1988), brothers Matthew, Hugh, Raymond and sister Nora.  Survived by and deeply loved by his children Penny (Doug) McCullough of B.C., Paul (Carol McLaughlin) Bell, Bev Mason, son-in-law Dave Mason and Barb (John) Needham all of Brights Grove.  Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Remembered by his sister Betty and sisters-in-law Joan, Shirley and Ann.  A proud and humble WWII veteran, Andy spent 6 years overseas.  Dad never compromised his beliefs or values in life throughout his many experiences and achievements.  Special thanks to Rosewood Manor and Marshall Gowland Manor for their compassion and friendship over the past few years.  In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial will be held at a later date.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to War Amps (cheques only at the funeral home please).  Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, ON.  Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca

Beloved husband of Florencia Tulang.  Loving father of Pablita Connell (Michael), Simplicio Tulang (Gracia), Mansueta Palado (Anecito), Nemesio Tulang (Milres), Maria Cleofe and Lydia Chan (Waiman).  Cherished grandfather of Maria Carol Wigney, Adelo Palado, Helen Beyens (Erik), Ana Palado, Simplicio Palado, Francis Palado, Eileen Palado, Eunice Tulang, Nicholaus Tulang, Nes Tulang, Gabrion Tulang, May-Ann Montalban, Sheryl Montalban and Keanu Chan.  Great-grandfather of Sage Spear and Orjie Montalban.  Predeceased by his siblings Feleciano Tulang, Cosme Tulang, Moises Tulang, Geralda Banac, Anastacia Tulang and Maria Dumpa. Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerry Guichelaar. Predeceased by her friend Bud Johnson. Loving mother of Liesje Chesterfield (Wilfred) and Yvonne Stevens (Jim) and predeceased by her infant daughter Anne Marie. Dear grandmother of Ryan, Jenna (Chris), Laura, Trevor and Samantha. Remembered by her dear friends Fran William, Lorraine Watkin, Holly Williams, Chuck and Mary Johnson and Gord Salmon. Barbara will be missed by her special canine friend, Sammi. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Parkwood Hospital, especially nurses Debbie, Rene, Melba and Kim. John Joseph Payne of Camlachie

Suddenly on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, John Joseph Payne passed away at the age of 90.  Loving husband for 50 years of Gerry (Zink) and kind father of Mary Liz (Meng Chen), Jack (Jennifer So), Danny, and Brigid (Ken Eliuk).  Proud grandfather of Meghan, Brandon, Alannah, Joseph, Anje and John.  Brother of Christine (Sister Aloysia, OSJ), Ann (Sister Brigid Ann, OSJ), Patricia (Hammond) and Josephine Payne.  Dearly loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by parents John and Brigid (Stanley), sisters Mary (Sister Mary Lawrence, OSJ), Helen (McMahon) and Theresa (Marcello).  John was born in St. Catharines and graduated from the University of Western Ontario (through Assumption College, Windsor) and the University of Detroit in Engineering.  He worked for many years as a mechanical engineer in Windsor and London, and served on the engineering society (ASHRAE) as president and historian. After retiring, he was active in St. Michael’s Parish, Bright’s Grove. Special thanks to countless parishioners, neighbours, friends and Red Cross Caregivers Diane and Cheryl, who made it possible for John to live a full and happy life right to the end, to Dr. Buckton for his years of care, Fathers Peter Keller and Antony Kolenchery and Deacon Dave Robertson of St. Michael’s Parish for their concern and support, the Bright’s Grove emergency responders- ambulance, fire department and police- and the emergency department at Bluewater Health Care Centre for their efficiency, courtesy and compassion. William (Bill) H. Bieber of Lucan

At LHSC-UniversityHospitalon Wednesday, February 22, 2012 of Lucan in his 62nd year.  Beloved husband of Nancy (Weller) Bieber for 43 years.  Dear father of Bill and Julie Bieber and Tammy and Mike Holden all of Lucan.  Dear grandfather of Will; Megan and Owen; Derek and Brad.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Barb Bieber of London, George and Kathy Bieber of Mitchell, Linda and John Barrett of Crediton, Tom and Dorothy Weller of Dorchester, David and Jackie Weller of Victoria, B.C.  Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Hiram and Ellen Bieber, father-in-law Tom Weller and his wife June, his sister Marg and her husband Bob Johns.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11 AM with Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating.  Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
